8 January 2009 The long awaited Quotation
Today we received the long awaited quotation for the outstanding work. Since the end of November Pafilia worked on get these numbers on paper. The document is unfortunately not self-explanatory.
A Meeting has been scheduled for Monday 12. January 2009 with George, the Pafilia SeniorSite Engineer, Tony, and George from Pafilia Finance department.
One topic that is very annoying is the imposed delay by 2 months. We have a penalty clause in our construction contract. Pafilia has to pay about 4000 Euro for every month exceeding the deadline of 31 Jan 2009. Ever since Pafilia realized they cannot make the deadline they try hard to impose a default on us.
This is very irritating because the delay is clearly Pafilias problem! We have never been giving a project plan, time table or any other document with fixed deadlines. In the contrary – if we had not been pushing we would still wait for things. The 6 weeks duration for providing a fairly straight forward quotation speaks for itself.
