14 Feb 2008 Meeting with Pafilia Architecs

Various

  • Victoras finished Axel's floor plans. He will send them by Email by 15th of February.

  • Victoras needs input from Axel regarding the sort of roller-blinds he is looking for with regard to the balcony facing windows.

  • Staircase to basement utility/mechanical room (next to swimming pool): Pafilia changed the side of the entrance to the utility/mechanical room for safety reasons. They will install a glass balustrade between terrace and basement entrance (3 standalone pieces, 1,20 m each, safety glass, no steel no frames between the pieces)

  • I asked about the air circulation in the utility/mechanical room as well as for the basement. Said informed me, this will not be an issue because I will get an aluminium door with window-shades (?)

Catrin´s Bathroom

  • We exchanged the location of the sink and shower.

  • The shower size is reduced. It will have the size 1,20m x 1,20m. This change allows more space and comfort in between.

  • We cancelled the garden facing door.

  • We turned the toilet 90 degrees. Although I loose 25cm cabinet space in my dressing room it improves the comfort in the bathroom.

  • The veranda doors will be changed. Currently the floor plan shows sliding doors. This will be changed as follows:
    • A 30 cm wall (starting from the finished floor level) will be build about the widths’ of the bathtub.
    • A fixed glass window will be installed between the wall and the sealing (about 2,70m).

  • The veranda door will be a sliding door

  • The already build drainage of the bathroom must be change. It's now on the head site. That's a mistake (Punch List!)

  • The bathtub tap will be mounted right of the narrow side.

Sarah´s bathroom

Entrance / Lobby Ground Floor

  • The main entrance door will be smaller (1,10 m) than on the current floor plans

  • We took out the wardrobe on the right hand wall. This provides for more space for art in the lobby.

Ground Floor - Guest Toilet

  • We cancelled the high cabinets

  • We opted for a hanging toilet. Respective provisions need to be planned.

  • The sink will be places on the left site.

  • A small storage room (to be closed by an unobtrusive door) will be fitted under the staircase

  • 2 decorative niches with lights will be build above the storage room

Catron´s Kitchen

  • Unfortunately the size of the kitchen is getting smaller

  • The glass and brick wall between the kitchen and the dining room will be removed

  • Said will look into the possibility of the fitting the washing machine under the staircase storage room (required heights: 1,85 m)

  • The kitchen door (garden entrance) will be moved towards the dining area. A final decision will be made when the floor plan drawings are completed

  • I asked Said that the kitchen design must cater for seating at least 3 people comfortably. He promised to draw the kitchen accordingly

  • I asked Said about the possibly to design a two level adjustable kitchen table (e.g. normal heights and breakfast bar functionality).

Next appointments

  • Our next appointment will be on Monday, 18.2.08, at 10.00 o'clock on the property. Participates: Catrin, Said and Victoras.

  • Axel´s next visit will be during the first week of March. An appointments needs to be scheduled with the Architect’s and the Administrator, preferably on March 3rd Goal of the meeting:
    • Detail plan for Electricity
    • Detail selection of fittings and materials (window frames, kitchen front, bathroom appliances...)
