Review of preliminary Snagging List

Today we reviewed our preliminary snagging list from August. A number of items have been fixed, but others had to be added. We have learned some lessons and during the process we have made a number of observations that may be helpful for other home owners that build in Cyprus:

 

• If you don´t stand behind the craftsman, chances are high, that things don’t get done the way you want them
• The craftsmen don´t believe in covering up. E.g. the painter repaints the ceiling but he does not cover the floor with plastic or paper. Paint drips on the floor. The floor is cleaned by the cleaner, but he touches the walls with his dirty hands so the painter has to come again…
• The general contractor does not pay attention to details. We prepared a detailed snagging list and the general contractor translated it and sends a copy to the subcontractor. In their view they have done their job and they rely on the subcontractor that the work is done properly. Many times it is not.

But we see the end of the tunnel and we are really looking forward moving in this week:)
